The Kashmir Valley was battered by moderate to heavy rains on Monday, leading to the establishment of emergency control rooms in vulnerable regions. Authorities reported that districts including Srinagar, Kupwara, Baramulla, Anantnag, and Pulwama experienced significant rainfall since Monday morning.

Local residents in the Warnov forest area of Lolab, Kupwara, were forced to evacuate to safer areas due to torrential rains accompanied by thunder. The Indian Meteorological Department's Srinagar Centre has issued a weather advisory for moderate to heavy rainfall across many parts of the valley.

In light of the inclement weather, police departments in Pulwama and Anantnag have set up emergency helplines. Authorities have urged the public, especially those living near the Jhelum River and local streams, to remain cautious and refrain from approaching water bodies until the adverse weather conditions subside by August 19, 2025.
