Devastating Rains Lead to Evacuations and Casualties in Maharashtra

Heavy rains in Maharashtra have resulted in the deaths of three individuals and the evacuation of over 120 people in the last 24 hours. The National Disaster Response Force and various rescue teams are actively involved in rescue operations as rivers flood and low-lying areas are submerged.

In Maharashtra, relentless rains have claimed three lives and necessitated the evacuation of over 120 people within the past 24 hours, the State Disaster Management Department announced on Tuesday.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), alongside other rescue teams, played a crucial role in evacuating residents from the affected districts, according to an official statement from the department.

Monday’s deluge impacted five out of the eight districts in Marathwada, with Beed district experiencing the highest rainfall of 143.7 mm. Nanded followed with 131.6 mm, and Jalna recorded 121.4 mm within 24 hours.
