Uttarakhand Battles Back: Swift Response to Devastating Rains

Uttarakhand's government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, prioritized restoring road and power connectivity after heavy rains caused widespread destruction. Efforts to repair infrastructure were underway, with 85% of damaged power lines restored. Meanwhile, rescue operations have saved 1,000 stranded individuals across the affected regions.

In the wake of recent devastating rains, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized the state's immediate focus on restoring road and power connections while initiating repairs on damaged infrastructure.

The relentless cloudbursts and heavy downpour have left extensive damage across Dehradun and other parts of Uttarakhand, resulting in the loss of 15 lives, 16 people missing, and 900 stranded in various locations. Swollen rivers wreaked havoc, washing away buildings, roads, and bridges.

Dhami reported that 85% of power lines had been restored, with efforts ongoing to complete repairs swiftly. The BRO DG has been contacted about repairing the Narendra Nagar-Tehri road imminently. More than 1,000 people have been rescued so far, while disaster recovery continues across severely impacted areas like Sahastradhara, Premnagar, and Mussoorie.
