Tremors in Nepal: A Seismic Reminder

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal's Koshi province with no immediate reports of damage. The quake occurred at 7:32 am near the Tibet border, 225 km east of Kathmandu. Surrounding districts also felt the tremor. Nepal often experiences earthquakes due to its tectonic location.

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale shook Nepal's eastern district of Sankhuwasabha early Tuesday morning, according to local authorities. Despite the intensity, no immediate damage has been reported.

The tremor, which occurred at 7:32 am, was centered around the Kimathangka area close to the Tibet border, about 225 kilometers east of the capital, Kathmandu. The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre confirmed this location.

The quake was reportedly felt in nearby districts like Taplejung, Bhojpur, and Solukhumbu as well. Nepal sits in a highly seismic region, comprising zones IV and V, where such earthquakes are a frequent occurrence.
