The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is ramping up efforts to tackle water leakage issues in the city via an ambitious new initiative called 'Blue Force'. Set to be launched on November 19 by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, the initiative leverages cutting-edge robotic and AI-based technology.
According to BWSSB Chairman Ram Prasath Manohar, the initiative will deploy 16 'Blue Force' teams, each consisting of three members, across subdivisions. These teams are tasked with identifying and curbing illegal water and sewage connections, thereby preventing revenue loss from unauthorized usage.
The BWSSB has joined forces with a leading robotics company, enhancing its capabilities to detect and address water-related issues. This collaboration aims to reduce Bengaluru's current 28% water loss from leakages and illegal connections, ensuring fair water distribution city-wide.
