Citizens in Andhra Pradesh should prepare for intense weather as the India Meteorological Department predicts heavy rainfall from November 30 to December 3, thanks to Cyclonic Storm Ditwah. Key areas likely to be affected include Tirupati and Chittoor among others, officials warned on Wednesday.
According to the IMD, the storm in the southwest Bay of Bengal, close to north Sri Lanka, moved northwards at a speed of 10 kmph within the last six hours, remaining over the same region as of 11:30 am. The APSDMA has indicated heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is anticipated.
Aside from rain, squally winds up to 60 kmph have been forecast, escalating to 70 kmph on November 30. Fishermen are advised against sea ventures, and the public is urged to stay cautious of potential disruptions.
