In Bahraich district, fear grips residents following two separate wolf attacks on minor girls, highlighting a growing threat from wildlife. Forest officials revealed these incidents to reporters on Saturday.
Friday saw the first attack when five-year-old Anushka Nishad, left alone as her mother stepped out, became a target. A wolf entered their Mallahanpurwa home. Villagers responded to her cries, driving the predator away. The child escaped with minor injuries.
A similar ordeal unfolded in Baburi Tola village. Four-year-old Nancy was playing outside when a wolf struck, dragging her before villagers could intervene. Both attacks are part of a worrying trend, with this region witnessing ten fatalities and numerous injuries since early September, officials confirmed.
