The Delhi government has launched an extensive cleanliness and dust-control drive to tackle garbage and reduce pollution in the city. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta personally led the initiative at Khyber Pass Chowk, focusing on sanitation and dust-mitigation efforts. The drive represents an unprecedented city-wide mission to improve air quality.
Efforts include comprehensive road construction, elimination of traditional fuel use, and distribution of electric heaters and irons to shift locals from coal and wood. Gupta emphasized the importance of public participation and urged corporations to support the initiative through CSR funds.
In addition to intensifying waste management inspections, the government is expanding its electric vehicle fleet, with a goal to fully transition public transport to EVs by 2026. The campaign highlights the coordinated efforts from multiple ministers aimed at making Delhi a cleaner, safer city.
