Stronger winds have brought much-needed relief to Delhi, improving its Air Quality Index (AQI) to 259, a notable improvement from the previous week's pollution levels. This is the second consecutive day of better air quality for Delhi, following a period of heavy pollution.
The city's AQI showed a gradual decline from 314 on Monday to 308 on Sunday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). On Wednesday, northwesterly winds reached up to 15 kmph, with expectations to slow to below 10 kmph by evening, as per the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi.
The Decision Support System highlighted vehicular emissions as a major contributor, accounting for around 16.9% of local pollution. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts partly foggy conditions for Thursday, with temperatures ranging from 8 to 24 degrees Celsius.
