Thane and Japan Unite for Digital Governance Revamp

The Thane Municipal Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to bolster digital governance. The alliance focuses on smart infrastructure development and enhancing citizen services in Thane through the adoption of advanced and sustainable technologies.

The Thane Municipal Corporation announced a significant partnership with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Japan. The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance digital governance and accelerate smart infrastructure in the city, aiming to make citizen services more effective and efficient.

According to the agreement, both parties will focus on implementing advanced, sustainable urban infrastructure that aligns with the unique needs of Thane. This strategic alliance is poised to drive new initiatives in digital governance.

TMC Commissioner Saurabh Rao highlighted that the cooperation would expedite the diffusion of innovative technologies, facilitating the development of an efficient and adaptable urban governance system that prioritizes the citizens of Thane.
