Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Rs 1,782 Crore Aid for Submergence Hit Areas
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved a Rs 1,782 crore relief package for nearly 14,000 people in submergence-affected areas of Anuppur, Mandla, and Dindori districts. This aid, complementing the existing Rs 1,656 crore, aims to compensate families affected by major irrigation and power projects.

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has greenlit a special relief package worth Rs 1,782 crore to support those residing in submergence-affected areas in Anuppur, Mandla, and Dindori districts. This package, designed to complement the existing Rs 1,656 crore allocation in the project's Detailed Project Report (DPR), aims to aid approximately 14,000 affected individuals.
The Upper Narmada Project, Raghavpur Multipurpose Project, and Basania Multipurpose Project, with a collective value of Rs 5,512 crore, are set to provide irrigation for 71,967 hectares and generate 125 MW of electricity. The projects will impact 13,873 families, each assured of Rs 12.50 lakh compensation, alongside additional financial support for 50,000 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families.
In other developments, the Cabinet sanctioned Rs 693.76 crore for 3,810 initiatives under the Chief Minister's Rural Road and Infrastructure Scheme for 2025-26. An allocation of Rs 90.67 crore was also approved for the operational and maintenance needs of Metro Rail ventures in Bhopal and Indore, while the Chief Minister's Udyam Kranti Yojana was extended to 2030-31 with Rs 905.25 crore in funding.
