Bitter cold continued to grip the states of Haryana and Punjab on Friday, as numerous locales noted minimum temperatures hovering near the freezing mark. Bhiwani emerged as Haryana's coldest spot, registering a chilling low of 1.5°C.
Narnaul and Hisar weren't spared from the wintry blast, marking minimum temperatures of 2°C and 2.2°C, respectively. Meanwhile, in Punjab, Ballowal Saunkhri in SBS Nagar registered a bone-chilling 0.9°C.
In a broader cold sweep, regions such as Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Patiala also faced icy conditions, while dense fog in Chandigarh and other areas led to severely reduced visibility during morning commutes.
