Across several parts of India, unpredictable weather has brought both relief and chaos. While much-needed rains cooled sweltering temperatures, they also left a trail of disruption and destruction. Delhi-NCR experienced intense heat relief on Thursday as sudden rain and hailstorms lashed the region, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an 'orange alert'.
In Bengaluru, a severe weather condition led to significant infrastructure damage and ten casualties, highlighting the fragility of urban planning in the wake of unpredictable climate phenomena. Heavy rains and strong winds uprooted trees, flooded streets, and caused traffic gridlocks during peak hours.
Meanwhile, other regions like West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh brace for further disturbances as the IMD forecasts heavy rain and thunderstorms, fueled by wind patterns and a fresh Western Disturbance. Officials warn of further disruptions as preparations for adverse weather conditions intensify.
