A leopard was found dead in a forest in Odisha's Balasore district, raising concerns about wildlife safety in the area. Officials reported the discovery in Kathagochi Reserve Forest's Mitrapur section, where the animal was entangled in a wired net.
Forest personnel found the leopard carcass after receiving information from locals on Tuesday morning. It is believed that the 10-year-old animal got trapped on Monday night, struggling for an extended period before succumbing.
A team of veterinary doctors conducted a post-mortem examination at the site. Preliminary investigations indicate the leopard faced a prolonged struggle to escape. Following the examination, the carcass was buried in the forest, officials confirmed.
