India has affirmed its ample supply of petrol and diesel, stressing there is enough to meet domestic demands. The Indian Government highlighted that any perceived shortages arise from misuse, such as subsidised retail supplies being diverted for industrial usage.
Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has been closely working with oil companies, state administrations, and industry leaders to ensure continued supply. Recent reviews involving state and union officials revealed no genuine fuel shortages, attributing any localised tightness to pricing manipulation. The ministry condemned industries purchasing from retail outlets to capitalise on consumer subsidies, urging stringent measures against such practices.
The government assures energy security through a robust refining capacity, coordinated public sector operations, and collaborative efforts between Centre and states. States and territories are urged to strengthen enforcement against black marketing and unauthorised practices, thus stabilising the situation. Fuel price increases result from international energy market fluctuations, not supply deficits.
