Tragic Loss in Assam: Septic Tank Cleaning Turns Fatal
Three individuals lost their lives and one remains critically injured after inhaling toxic gases while cleaning a septic tank in Assam's Goalpara district.

Three individuals tragically died while attempting to clean a septic tank in Assam's Goalpara district, with another person in critical condition. Police reported that the incident happened at Goraimari village under the Agia police jurisdiction.
According to authorities, the job turned deadly when Krishna Roy, a mason, fainted after entering the tank, which had been sealed for over three months. As assistant Dilip Das tried to rescue him, he also lost consciousness. The homeowner, Josak Rabha, then entered the tank and suffered the same fate. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, while another individual remains hospitalized.
Authorities have begun an investigation into the tragedy to determine the circumstances and ensure better safety measures are followed in the future.
