Madhya Pradesh is set to experience a cooling shift as western disturbances and moisture from the Arabian Sea prompt light rain and thunderstorms, easing previous heatwave conditions. These weather changes are expected to manifest on Sunday, according to forecasts.
This relief coincides with the intense 'Nautapa' period, known for peak summer heat. Except for the Sagar division, most parts of the state will see rain and storms, reported HS Pandey of the India Meteorological Department in Bhopal. The recent weather shift has led to temperatures falling below seasonal averages by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.
The districts of Khandwa, Khargone, and others may experience winds reaching 50 to 60 kmph. The shift follows an overnight occurrence with gusts up to 70 kmph that caused disruptions in Bhopal's power supply. In Sehore, wind speeds peaked at 94 kmph, with subsequent drizzles across various regions.
