Indian companies are intent on expanding their footprint in Venezuela's energy sector, according to Hardeep Singh Puri, India's oil minister. During talks with Venezuela’s Interim President Delcy Rodriguez in New Delhi, Puri emphasized India’s readiness to bolster its involvement in Venezuela’s oil industry.
Rodriguez extended an invitation to an Indian energy delegation to explore further opportunities within Venezuela's oil sector. She acknowledged the strong partnership between the two nations and welcomed Indian participation in Venezuela's reformed oil and gas sector.
Rodriguez's visit highlights the significance of Venezuela as a critical oil supplier to India, particularly as India navigates global supply disruptions. The two nations expressed a desire to shift towards long-term secure oil supply agreements.
