Bangladeshi villages flooded as cyclone Fani's intensity breaks dams in Patuakhali

Bangladesh is facing the wrath of cyclone Fani with as much as 20 villages in Patuakhali of Barisal flooded due to the rough weather. According to Dhaka Tribune, some dams partially broke down due to the increased water level of the rivers and the sea due to cyclone Fani causing houses and croplands of the villages of the Kalapara and Mirzaganj upazilas to be submerged under water.

Cyclone Fani has also ravaged neighbouring India making landfall on Friday morning with a wind speed of around 245 kmph. Dozens of flights remain cancelled due to the cyclone.
