The St. Louis Cardinals activated Brett Cecil from the 10-day disabled list and optioned fellow left-hander Tyler Webb to Triple-A Memphis, the team announced Wednesday.

Cecil has been sidelined with a right foot inflammation. He most recently pitched for the Cardinals on July 22.

The 32-year-old is 0-1 with a 5.70 ERA in 27 appearances this season, all in relief.

Cecil is 43-47 with a 4.22 ERA in 430 career appearances (74 starts) in 10 major league seasons. He earned his lone All-Star nod with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2013.

Webb didn't allow a run in six appearances (7 2/3 innings) with the Cardinals. He was claimed off waivers from the San Diego Padres in late June.

Webb, 28, is 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA in 19 career appearances with the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, Padres, and Cardinals.
