Brewers complete dominant sweep of Rockies

Jesus Aguilar, Orlando Arcia and Keon Broxton homered, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies 6-0 in Game 3 on Sunday in Denver to sweep the National League Division Series. The Brewers move on to the NL Championship Series, where they will host Game 1 on Friday against either the Dodgers or Braves. Los Angeles led that series 2-0 with Game 3 scheduled for later Sunday at Atlanta.

Acuna's slam helps Braves edge Dodgers, extend NLDS

Freddie Freeman hit a tiebreaking homer leading off the sixth inning after the Los Angeles Dodgers had come back from a five-run deficit, and the host Atlanta Braves stayed alive in the National League Division Series with a 6-5 victory in Game 3 on Sunday night. Rookie Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a grand slam to climax a five-run second inning for the Braves, but the Dodgers fought back thanks in part to homers by Chris Taylor and Max Muncy.

Norman warns of too much 'Tiger talk'

The entire golf world has revelled in the surprising comeback of Tiger Woods. But Greg Norman warns golf fans against the dangers of going overboard with all-Tiger, all-the-time mania. The retired 20-time PGA Tour champion Norman, while being interviewed on a Yahoo Finance podcast, complimented Woods' impressive return to form that culminated in him winning the Tour Championship last month. But Norman also sounded an alarm to the golf community to avoid an all-encompassing Tiger beat.

Tennis - Three Thai chair umpires handed life bans for match-fixing

Three Thai chair umpires have been handed life bans for match-fixing and betting offences, the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) said on Monday. The TIU said the three had admitted to betting on tennis matches at ITF Futures tournaments at which they were officiating last year.

NFL roundup: Rams, Chiefs improve to 5-0

Todd Gurley rushed for three touchdowns as the Los Angeles Rams remained undefeated with a 33-31 victory against the host Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in a game involving six lead changes. Cairo Santos kicked a 39-yard field goal with 6:05 remaining to provide Los Angeles with the final margin of victory. The Rams (5-0) opened up a three-game lead in the NFC West over the second-place Seahawks (2-3), who had a two-game winning streak snapped.

NFL notebook: Jags lose Grant on ugly day in Kansas City

There were lots of injuries around the NFL on Sunday, but no game saw more players go down than the Jaguars-Chiefs tilt in Kansas City. And no injury was bigger than that sustained by Jacksonville do-everything back Corey Grant. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Grant is feared to be out for the season after sustaining a Lisfranc foot injury in his team's 30-14 loss.

NHL roundup: Leafs, 'Canes win 13-goal games

Morgan Rielly scored 19 seconds into overtime to lift the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs to a wild 7-6 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday evening. John Tavares recorded his ninth career hat trick -- and his first since joining Toronto -- in the fast-paced victory. Auston Matthews added two goals and two assists, while Rielly finished with one goal and two assists. Kasperi Kapanen netted Toronto's initial goal.

Mavericks fire team photographer amid harassment allegations

The Dallas Mavericks fired longtime team photographer Danny Bollinger after allegations of sexual harassment, the Dallas Morning News reported Monday, citing multiple sources. According to the report, the Mavericks began investigating Bollinger two weeks ago, a few days after the release of a 43-page report that culminated a seven-month investigation into allegations of sexual harassment in the team's business offices. The probe found evidence of "disturbing and heartbreaking" workplace misconduct by current and former members of the Mavericks' organization, the NBA revealed.

Lloyd's hat trick fuels U.S. women's national soccer team's rout of Panama

Carli Lloyd scored three goals for the U.S. women's national team in a 5-0 rout of Panama in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier on Sunday in Cary, N.C., all but ensuring her team's advancement to the semifinals. The U.S. has won the first two of three matches in group play by a combined score of 11-0, having beaten Mexico 6-0 on Thursday. Even if the Americans lose their final match on Wednesday vs. Trinidad and Tobago, they likely would win Group A because of an insurmountable goal difference.

Furyk discusses Ryder Cup: 'It'll always bother me'

In the wake of the United States' loss to Europe in the Ryder Cup, a disgruntled Patrick Reed said he was "blindsided" by team captain Jim Furyk's decision not to pair him with Jordan Spieth. On Monday, in an interview with the Golf Channel, Furyk discussed his decision to team Reed and Tiger Woods in the fourball matches, and he said the pairings were known well ahead of the Ryder Cup team's travel to Le Golf National outside Paris.
