Kirstie Gordon, Natalie Sciver and Anya Shrubsole accumulated large applause by taking 8 wickets between them, setting up England women’s triumph over the Proteas by 7 wickets and knocking them out of the running for the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s World T20 on Friday, November 16.

Let’s have a look at the players’ performance. Natalie Sciver (3/4) and Anya Shrubsole (3/11) gained 3 wickets each. Whereas, the viewers felt Shrubsole’s comparatively more remarkable they were a hat-trick off the first three balls of the 20th over. Kirstie Gordon chipped in with 2/18, seeing South Africa once again skittled out for less than 100 runs, this time 85 in 19.3 overs after electing to bat first.

There was a troubling situation for Proteas when they lost the 19-year old cricketer Laura Wolvaardt for 4 in the 3rd over after nicking the ball to the wicketkeeper. Then the all-rounder Lizelle Lee along with Marizanne Kapp added 20 runs to the board. After this, Lee was compelled to depart. Chloe Tryon and Mignon du Preez were able to add only 25 run partnership before the latter player was caught out in the 15th over.

Overall, it was a bad duration for the South African players when they got the opportunity to defend their total score. With the shining performance of 27-year old Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont for making 55 runs opening partnership, England got a good start compared to its competitor. However, don’t miss South Africa’s latest group fixture against Bangladesh on Sunday.
