Robert MacIntyre, with an electrifying 30-foot eagle putt on the par-5 17th hole, surged forward Saturday, concluding the round with a commanding four-stroke lead at the RBC Canadian Open.
Sharing the second-round lead with Ryan Fox, the Scottish left-hander carded a 4-under 66, reaching 14-under 196 at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Despite a winless streak in 44 PGA Tour starts, the 27-year-old maintained a resilient mindset throughout the tournament.
“I think it's my attitude now,” MacIntyre shared. “I've been in a good mindset from the get-go with zero expectations.” Local favorite Mackenzie Hughes, along with Fox and Ben Griffin, trailed closely. Last year's champion, Nick Taylor, missed the cut after rounds of 72 and 71.
