The incident occurred at the squad's training camp in Schladming, Austria, dealing a significant blow to the team's preparations. Coach Ivan Hašek described the injury of the Twente player as a serious setback.
The 25-year-old, one of the key players who helped the Czech team reach the quarterfinals in the previous Euros, has 24 international caps to his name. A decision on his replacement will be made soon.
The Czech Republic will face North Macedonia in their final warm-up game on Monday before commencing their tournament campaign in Germany on June 18 against Portugal. They will later play against Georgia and Turkey in Group F.
