Roberto Baggio Robbed at Gunpoint During Italy-Spain Match

Retired Italian star Roberto Baggio was robbed at gunpoint in his home near Vicenza while watching Italy's match against Spain. The robbers locked Baggio and his family in a room and stole valuables. Baggio sustained a head injury but managed to call the police after escaping.

Retired Italy star Roberto Baggio was violently robbed at gunpoint at his Vicenza home during the national team's game against Spain at the European Championship. Italian media report at least five armed robbers stormed Baggio's villa around 10 pm.

One assailant struck Baggio on the head with a gun butt when the former soccer player confronted them. The robbers then locked the 57-year-old Baggio and his family in a room while they looted jewellery, watches, and cash. After the thieves fled, Baggio broke down the door and called the police.

Baggio received stitches for his head injury at a hospital, while his family members were unharmed. Spain won the match 1-0.
