Former Pakistan cricketer Wahab Riaz broke his silence on Wednesday regarding his removal from the national selection committee by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Riaz mentioned that although he has much to say, he wishes to avoid blame games. The PCB had earlier notified Abdul Razzaq and Riaz that their services were no longer required.

The announcement followed Pakistan's early exit from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 after they were knocked out in the Group Stage, with losses against the USA and India. Riaz took to X to express his thoughts, stating, "There is a lot I can say but I don't want to be part of the blame games." He also shared a letter noting his sincere service to Pakistan cricket.

Riaz emphasized that being part of the selection panel was an honor and that the team made decisions collaboratively. He supported head coach Gary Kirsten's vision and wished the team success. The PCB has confirmed plans to restructure the selection committee. Riaz has been a key figure in Pakistan cricket, retiring with 237 international wickets since his debut in 2008.
