Zimbabwe put up a competitive score of 152/7 in their allotted 20 overs against India in the fourth match of a five-game T20I series, held at Harare on Saturday. India now needs to chase down 153 runs to claim a 3-1 series lead.
Winning the toss and electing to bowl, India faced early pressure as Zimbabwe’s openers Wessly Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani exploited the powerplay. Debutant pacer Tushar Deshpande bore the brunt of their assault, conceding multiple boundaries.
Abhishek Sharma brought the breakthrough by dismissing Marumani for 32 runs, followed by Shivam Dube's critical wicket of Madhevere for 25. Despite these wickets, captain Sikandar Raza’s aggressive 46 off 28 balls pushed Zimbabwe to a respectable total. Excellent fielding from Shubman Gill and effective bowling by Khaleel Ahmed, who picked up 2/32, helped India contain the hosts.
