The 15-member squad, along with their support staff, departed from Mumbai after a press conference held by Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar, the BCCI's chairman of selectors. They touched down in Pallekele on the same day after a brief layover in Colombo.
India is set to play a three-match T20I series against the home team, commencing on July 27. This will be followed by matches on July 28 and 30, and then the team will head to Colombo for three One-day Internationals scheduled for early August. The squad includes experienced players like vice-captain Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh.
