Indian shooter Manu Bhaker narrowly missed becoming the first Indian to secure three medals at the Paris Olympics, finishing fourth in the women's 25m pistol shooting event on Saturday. The 22-year-old's journey concluded in a shoot-off against Hungary's former world record holder Veronika Major, both tied at 28 points. The event saw Jiin Yang of South Korea clinching gold, Camille Jedrzejewski of France taking silver, and Veronika Major of Hungary securing bronze.

Earlier in the competition, Bhaker opened India's medal tally by winning third place in the women's individual 10m Air pistol event. Subsequently, Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh grabbed the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, defeating South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the bronze medal play-off match.

Meanwhile, Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale made headlines by winning the bronze medal in the men's 50m rifle 3P event on Thursday. This victory marked Kusale as the first Indian shooter to medal in the men's 50m rifle 3P event, contributing India's third overall shooting medal at the Paris Olympics.
