Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has officially ended his coaching relationship with his father Apostolos, the former world number three announced on Friday.

The 25-year-old, currently ranked 11th, criticized his father’s coaching style after a 6-4 6-4 loss to Kei Nishikori in the second round of the Canadian Open. Despite the change, Apostolos will continue to support Tsitsipas off the field.

Tsitsipas expressed a preference for maintaining a father-son relationship with Apostolos rather than a professional one, but has yet to decide on a new coach. He recently reached the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
