Shreyas Iyer to Play in Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament

Shreyas Iyer will participate in a match for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament in Tamil Nadu, starting Thursday. Iyer, who recently returned to the Indian side, will play alongside India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav in Coimbatore from August 27 to 30. The event features 12 teams.

Shreyas Iyer will be available for one match for Mumbai in the upcoming Buchi Babu Invitational tournament, set across four venues in Tamil Nadu, starting Thursday.

Iyer is set to join India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav in representing Mumbai in their second-round game in Coimbatore from August 27 to 30.

"Shreyas Iyer will play for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament organized by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. He will be playing against Jammu & Kashmir from 27th August in Coimbatore," MCA joint secretary Deepak Patil stated in a release.

Iyer made a comeback to the Indian side earlier this month during the ODI series in Sri Lanka.

The 12-team tournament will include teams such as Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Hyderabad, Bengal, Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, TNCA XI, and TNCA President's XI.

This multi-day tournament will be held in Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Salem, and Natham.
