Monaco bolstered its defense by signing Netherlands defender Jordan Teze, adding crucial Champions League experience ahead of its return to the competition.
Teze has inked a five-year contract with Monaco, which reportedly paid PSV Eindhoven 12 million euros ($13.3 million) for the right back.
The 24-year-old defender featured in eight Champions League matches last season as PSV reached the round of 16, only to be eliminated by Borussia Dortmund.
Monaco, which finished runner-up to Paris Saint-Germain in the French league last season, directly qualified for the Champions League for the first time in six years.
In 2017, Monaco reached the Champions League semifinals, thanks largely to a young Kylian Mbappé before he moved to PSG. The principality will also host next week's draw for the new and expanded Champions League format, which replaces the traditional group stage with a league standings system where 36 teams will each play eight different opponents.
