Czech tennis player Karolina Muchova delivered an impeccable performance, knocking out two-time champion Naomi Osaka in the U.S. Open's second round with a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory. After a wrist injury sidelined her for nearly a year, Muchova appeared in prime form at Arthur Ashe Stadium, securing a third-round clash with unseeded Russian Anastasia Potapova.

Naomi Osaka, a four-time major winner from Japan, showed brilliance in her opening match against Jelena Ostapenko but faltered against Muchova due to crucial errors. 'I know she's an amazing player, and I had to bring my A-game,' Muchova said, emphasizing her focus on her own play after returning to the tour in June.

The match saw both players deadlocked early before Muchova capitalized on a break point in the seventh game, leading to Osaka's defeat. Despite battling hard, Osaka couldn't maintain her lead in the second set, ultimately succumbing in the tiebreak. Although disappointed, Osaka remained optimistic about her performance post-maternity leave.
