Naomi Osaka Parts Ways with Coach Wim Fissette After Four Years
Naomi Osaka announced her split from coach Wim Fissette after four years together, during which she won two Grand Slam titles. The decision follows Osaka's return to the tour after her maternity break, but she has struggled to regain her top form this season, currently ranking 75th.
Naomi Osaka has officially ended her professional relationship with coach Wim Fissette after a four-year collaboration that saw the tennis star capture two Grand Slam titles under his guidance.
Osaka, the former world number one, disclosed the news on Friday and reflected on their successful partnership and the cherished memories they created. She wished Fissette well in an Instagram post describing him as an excellent coach and an even better person.
Since her return to professional tennis nine months ago after a lengthy maternity break, Osaka has faced challenges, achieving only two quarter-final finishes out of 16 tournaments this season and currently sitting at the 75th spot in the rankings.
