Pakistan's High-Scoring Feat Pushes England in Multan Test

Pakistan's Salman Ali Agha led an aggressive batting display, helping the team post a massive total of 556 against England in the Multan Test. This marks the second time Pakistan has achieved a 550-plus total against England since 2022, pressuring the visitors after a historical 253-run partnership led by Shan Masood.

England's 'Bazball' era faced a major challenge in Multan as Pakistan amassed their second-largest total since the strategy's inception. On Day 2, Salman Ali Agha's electrifying batting propelled Pakistan to a commanding 556, firmly placing them in control.

Agha was the last wicket to fall, anchoring Pakistan's innings with flair and aggression. Notably, Pakistan became the only team to score over 550 against England twice in Tests since Brendon McCullum took over in 2022, exceeding New Zealand's 553-run feat in Nottingham.

Despite previous setbacks, England aims to overturn the odds again and secure victory in Multan, as they did in their last encounters. Pakistan’s dominance was built on a record-setting 253-run partnership between Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique.

Shafique overcame pressure to record a century, scoring a calculated 102 before fatigue set in, while Masood aggressively accumulated 151 at a brisk pace. Salman expertly countered the English spinners with reverse sweeps, reaching an unbeaten 104, marking the fourth time three Pakistani batsmen scored centuries in the same innings against England.
