The third day of the Ranji Trophy saw a cascade of stellar performances, with Ruturaj Gaikwad's magnificent 145 leading Maharashtra to a commanding total of 388, setting a modest 74-run target for Mumbai. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara's 75 not out for Saurashtra ensured they stayed competitive against Chhattisgarh's daunting 578/7 declared.

In the Elite Group A, Tripura's Manisankar Murasingh stole the spotlight with a bowling spell that dismantled Meghalaya for 222, enforcing a follow-on. Baroda's quick Declaration at 134/1 left Services chasing 341, after an unexpected batting collapse. Jammu & Kashmir, despite a shaky start, established a 193-run second-innings lead over Odisha.

Elite Groups encountered mixed fortunes; Andhra Pradesh battled back against Gujarat, reaching a 49-run lead following their follow-on. Rajasthan effortlessly chased a 26-run target against Himachal Pradesh. Rain stalled Bengal-Bihar and Kerala-Karnataka clashes, while Delhi's Yash Dhull shone with an unbeaten 103 against Tamil Nadu.
