Manchester United has announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, succeeding Erik ten Hag. The Premier League club is hopeful that Amorim, one of Europe's most promising young coaches, can restore the team to its former glories.

The 39-year-old Amorim has signed a contract with United until 2027, with an option for an additional year. Before he joins, he is expected to fulfill his duties with Sporting CP, the club he managed to success over a four-and-a-half-year tenure.

Amorim has been praised for his high pressing and possession-based football, securing two Primeira Liga titles with Sporting. Until he takes over, Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue as the interim manager for Manchester United.
