The 11th Padmashri Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament witnessed a series of impressive wins on Thursday. In the men's division, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences showcased dominance by defeating Kirori Mal College with an 8-1 score.
Farman and Ram Yadav from Indira Gandhi Institute each netted two goals, and additional scores came from Shekhar, Sumit, Pulkit, and Gurmukh. Kirori Mal College's single goal was scored by Anand, with Pulkit taking the Man of the Match honors.
Hansraj College routed Amity University 5-0, with Sagar scoring twice. The women's matches saw Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College narrowly edge out Janaki Devi Memorial College 1-0, courtesy of a goal by Pinky. In another thrilling match, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College outpaced Shyam Lal College Alumni 2-1.
In their match against IIT Delhi, Shri Ram College of Commerce achieved a 3-1 victory. Ayush Pandey, Vibhanshu Tiwari, and Hrithik each contributed goals for the winning team, as Bhavesh's effort for IIT was acknowledged with a Consolation Prize.
