After electing to bat, Sri Lanka built a solid foundation with an 88-run partnership between Nishan Madushka and Kusal Mendis, despite an early loss. Mendis, supported by a crucial 94-run stand with Charith Asalanka, reached his fifth ODI century, guiding Sri Lanka to 281/4 in 50 overs.
The Australian side, missing several key players, struggled to mount a challenge against Sri Lanka's disciplined attack. They were bowled out for 107 in just 24.2 overs, with spinners Wellalage and Hasaranga claiming seven wickets between them, propelling Sri Lanka to a comprehensive series win.
