In a significant development, tennis star Jannik Sinner has accepted a three-month ban, following two positive doping tests. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced the settlement on Saturday.
The controversy began when the International Tennis Integrity Agency initially chose not to suspend Sinner, deeming his positive tests as accidental contamination. WADA challenged this decision, arguing that Sinner should face a one-year ban due to traces of Clostebol found in his sample.
After reaching an agreement with WADA, Sinner will be eligible to return to competition after May 4, potentially participating in the Italian Open before competing in the French Open on May 25.
