The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has exerted a firm hand over the approval of the national squad for the Champions Trophy, sources reveal.
Naqvi demanded the selectors review the squad not once but twice before finally giving his approval on the third submission. While Naqvi refrains from interfering in cricket decisions directly, he runs the board with a no-nonsense approach. His influence extends to bringing in his own team of bureaucrats to manage board operations.
The selectors, including interim head coach Aaqib Javed and prominent officials like Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali, are held accountable for this significant decision in Pakistan cricket.
