Nottingham Forest's appeal against a £750,000 fine for social media criticism of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) has been dismissed by an independent appeal board, as announced by the FA on Monday.

The fine was imposed following Forest's posts alleging bias after a match loss last April. The club was unhappy about being denied three penalty claims and accused VAR Stuart Attwell of favoritism. Though the club contested both the fine and the accusation, they must now remove the offending social media content.

Meanwhile, Forest's performance has improved considerably this season, currently holding third place before their next game against Ipswich Town. Notably, Luton, their rivals last season, were relegated after finishing 18th.
