India's para shuttlers put on a remarkable display at the Spanish Para Badminton International 2025 - II, with standout performances across various categories.

In an impressive show of form, Sukant Kadam clinched the gold medal in the SL4 category by defeating compatriot Tarun with scores of 21-13, 21-10. Earlier, Kadam had bested Naveen Sivakumar in the semi-finals, continuing his unbeaten streak throughout the tournament. Post-match, he expressed his elation, stating, "I'm happy to start 2025 with a gold medal. Every match here was a learning experience, and I'm glad I could perform consistently."

Nitesh Kumar added to India's medal tally with gold in the SL3 category, overcoming Japan's Fujihara in a nail-biting contest. Victories in the SH6 and mixed doubles categories further underscored India's dominance, with Krishna Nagar, Nithyashre, Manisha Ramadass, and others contributing. Despite a valiant effort, Alphia James settled for silver in the women's singles, rounding off a successful tournament for the Indian team.
