The historic 150th anniversary test between Australia and England is set to illuminate the Melbourne Cricket Ground under lights from March 11-15, 2027. This historic match, announced by Cricket Australia, will be the first day-night men's test at the MCG, marking a significant evolution in the sport.

This prestigious venue witnessed the first cricket test in 1877 and the centenary test a century later, both resulting in Australian victories. Cricket Australia chief executive, Todd Greenberg, underscored the significance of this match as a celebration of cricket's rich heritage alongside its modern evolution.

The upcoming 150th test is poised to create new memories akin to the iconic performances of previous centennial matches. Australia will also be hosting the 2025-26 Ashes series, and the men's team, fresh off a semifinal appearance at the Champions Trophy, is preparing to defend its World Test Championship title.
