The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday the indefinite postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) shortly after shifting the T20 tournament to the UAE. The decision, prompted by ongoing military tensions with India, mirrors a similar suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by the BCCI.

The PCB's move comes after consultations with Pakistan's Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The Prime Minister highlighted concerns over India's 'reckless aggression,' directing national focus towards supporting the Armed Forces of Pakistan. The PCB expressed unwavering solidarity with the families of fallen soldiers and military personnel defending the nation.

Complicating the situation, the Emirates Cricket Board, which maintains positive ties with the BCCI, is unlikely to approve the PCB's request to host the remainder of the PSL in the UAE. This decision adds another layer of uncertainty to the tournament's future.
