Cricket-Australia bowl out Sri Lanka for 144 in Brisbane test

Australia bowled out Sri Lanka for 144 shortly after dinner on day one of the series opening day-night test at the Gabba on Thursday.

Pat Cummins led Australia’s attack with 4-39, with debutant Jhye Richardson taking three wickets, including the prize scalps of Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis.

Only Niroshan Dickwella offered stubborn resistance for Sri Lanka scoring an enterprising 64 with six boundaries and a six after Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat. (Reporting by Keiran Williams in Brisbane; Editing by Amlan Chakraborty)
