American sprinter Erriyon Knighton appeared in court on Monday, vying to clear his name in a positive doping test case that could lead to his exclusion from future world championships.

The 21-year-old, who has competed in two Olympic finals, was previously cleared to participate in the Paris Summer Games following a ruling by an American tribunal that found him not at fault for the positive result of the steroid trenbolone, allegedly due to contamination from oxtail.

The World Anti-Doping Agency and Athletics Integrity Unit have appealed, with the Court of Arbitration for Sport set to deliver a verdict soon. The issue highlights ongoing tensions between international and American anti-doping agencies.
