On Monday, the Sikkim Olympic Association (SOA) celebrated International Olympic Day 2025 at Paljor Stadium, combining sports activities with a dedication to social responsibility through a blood donation camp. The event carried the theme 'Move, Learn, Discover for a Better World.'

In honor of their achievements, athletes from Sikkim who excelled in national tournaments were recognized in a special ceremony. State Roads and Bridges Minister NB Dahal praised the SOA for their spirited celebration and underscored the crucial role sports play in youth development. He assured the government's commitment to improving sports infrastructure across the state.

The minister encouraged member associations to engage in quarterly meetings with the state's 32 MLAs, ensuring that legislators remain informed on sports in their regions and can support budding athletes effectively. SOA chief Kuber Bhandari stressed the importance of developing sports at the grassroots panchayat level, hoping for the rise of future Olympians from Sikkim.
