Mitchell Starc on the Verge of Milestone Achievements in West Indies Test Tour

As the Australian cricket team gears up for their tour of the West Indies, all eyes are on pacer Mitchell Starc, who is on track to reach two remarkable milestones. The series commencing June 25 will see him striving to become only the fourth Australian to claim 400 Test wickets. Furthermore, Starc is on the brink of joining an elite group as the 16th Australian to play 100 Tests. The tour kicks off with the first Test in Barbados, marking the beginning of Australia's campaign in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle following their recent loss in the 2023-25 cycle final against South Africa.

Starc, who currently boasts 387 wickets in 97 Tests at an average of 27.49, with best figures of 6/48, is also close to surpassing Brett Lee's record of 718 international wickets. Presently holding 710 wickets in 289 international matches, Starc aims to become Australia's third-highest wicket-taker across formats. The list of Australian legends is led by Shane Warne with 708 Test wickets, followed by Glenn McGrath with 563, and Nathan Lyon, who trails with 553 wickets and is in pursuit of further achievements.

Nathan Lyon is just 11 wickets shy of becoming Australia's second-highest wicket-taker in Tests and closing in on Mitchell Johnson's tally in international cricket. Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood is on the cusp of reaching 300 Test wickets, requiring 19 more, and is close to his 500th in international cricket.
