New Zealand seized command with a 92-0 response before the close of play, trailing by just 57 runs, thanks to solid performances from openers Devon Conway and Will Young, who remained unbeaten at stumps.
Under the leadership of stand-in captain Mitchell Santner, New Zealand exploited Zimbabwe's vulnerabilities, continuing their dominant performance, even without injured skipper Tom Latham and absent star player Kane Williamson.
